K9Splash!

(9:00-10:30 is for small dogs only, less than 15” from the top of their head)

K9Splash! is our signature and most popular event and biggest fundraiser of the year. It’s the weekend that goes to the dogs! Each August, we welcome over 800 dogs and 1,000 people to Bever Park Pool in Cedar Rapids to swim, play, and fetch over the course of two days. People always tell us how much fun this event is.

Rules, Registration, and Forms

Registration is on the day of the event, or you may print and bring the paperwork with you. The paperwork also includes the rules and event waiver you must sign. Dog vaccines of Parvo, Distemper, and Rabies are required with proof from your veterinarian’s office.

Rules:

Only well-mannered dogs and their (well-mannered) handlers are allowed to participate.
Dogs exhibiting aggressive behavior will be asked to leave with no refund given.
Proof of current vaccinations including Rabies, Parvo, and Distemper from your vet is required either via printout or pet portal (no exceptions). A Rabies tag is NOT enough! 2026 off-leash permit receipts will NOT be accepted as proof.
Each dog must be accompanied by a responsible adult handler aged above 18.
Limit one dog at a time per handler; use caution when leaving extra dogs in vehicles!
Anyone entering the pool area will be required to sign a release of liability form (waiver).
Handlers will be allowed in the pool only to help their dog in and out; no human swimming!
For their safety children less than 48 inches will not be admitted through the gate.
Lifeguards will be on duty for humans, not to assist dogs in trouble.
No dogs in heat or under four months old allowed.
Clean up after your dogs! (And take them out of the pool to poop.) Bags are provided.
Dogs must wear flat buckle/snap collars when they are off-leash. No prong, choke or training collars will be allowed except to walk dogs to the entrance and exit gate of the pool. Collars will be available for purchase or rental the day of the event if needed. Full body harnesses and dog life vests are allowed.
All dogs must be off-leash once admitted. Drinking water for the dogs will be provided.
To minimize risk of guarding, pool toys will be provided; leave your dog’s toys at home.
No human or dog food/treats in pool area; handlers may have non-alcoholic beverages in plastic containers. Bottled water and sport drinks are available for purchase.
No glass containers of any kind allowed in pool area.
Special restrictions for 9:00 am – 10:30 am: small dogs 15” and under at the shoulder only.

Get Involved ... Volunteer!

We cannot pull off this safe and successful event without the support of our faithful volunteers.

We have opportunities available such as registration table, dog holders, gate guards, and pool watch, among other duties. Each session is a 3-hour commitment, and when you sign up for 2 spots, you (or someone on your behalf) can bring your dog to the event at no charge. Snacks and beverages will be provided, and if you sign up for all day, lunch is on us! All volunteers will also have an opportunity to be put in a drawing to win one of 10–$25 Visa gift cards.

We’re looking for over 70 people each day to help with this event. Minimum age to volunteer is 14 years old accompanied by an adult. If you have a large group interested in helping, send an email to info@k9cola.org. Thank you!
